how sick i am

i have been coughing for nearly 2 weeks. very unpleasant. hope fabby is ok. she was coughing, too.  this is nasty. i am taking all kinds of med but nothing helps.  i have this spasm that i get in my throat that causes the cough. sometimes i can't stop. i looked up whooping cough and pneumonia and i don't believe i have either of them. thank goodness, but bronchitis can last for 2 weeks or a month.  jesus!


ben doesn't feel well. hope it is nothing. could be diverticulitis.


i cleaned my desk today. took hours and i am not done. i have too much junk.  i hate to part with anything. tomorrow i am going to attempt to enter the dreaded back room.

my pedicure experience

i just had my first ever pedicure.  it was not nearly as bad as i thought it would be. i rather enjoyed it and my toes look beautiful now.  ben is tired of hearing about it. he is no fun at all.  i had to give the manicurist a long list of instructions about what tools not to use on me.  i also took an antibiotic in case she accidentally nicked me. i don't want to lose my shoulder over an accidental toe nick. it is not really worth it.

our governing body in congress still has not come to an agreement on our financial future.  they are so bad.  i think there may be one person in the whole group that really cares about the american people. the others just care about getting re-elected by their constituents.  the idiots want to cut all kinds of spending because they say we spend too much, but they don't want to raise taxes to help pay for anything.  of course not, they are in the group whose taxes would be raised.  i would like to line them all up and do something terrible in their general direction!

tomorrow is sharon's birthday. she will be 48.

i am still sitting on the couch with my computer.  my arm is a little more useful than it was, but i still can't move it too much without pain. today is july 21, 2011.

our congress is still futzing around and fighting over who will live or die in this country.  the republicans want to kill off the middle class and the poor and only keep the rich.  i'm not sure the dems are much better.  i really do hate all these people.

have to go to phys. therapy today.  don't look forward to that. it hurts. i tried to drive the other day. the driving part is no problem, but i can't turn the key, put on my seatbelt or put the car in drive without terrible contortions and pain.  ben was proud of me for trying.

i still wear my sling to support my poor shoulder.  this could go on forever! i saw an xray of my arm and it looks very odd with a huge pick looking thing in it.
nortie was operated on for stomach cancer.  there is a 5 year survival rate if they got it all. he is 76 now so 5 years is not bad i guess.  they are still working and getting more and more money. what do they need it for? jeez.........

damn shoulder

june 28th. yesterday was our 52nd anniversary. we spent most of the day on the phone with comcast trying to get our phone fixed.

  shoulder hurts a lot. tom, my therapist said it could be tendonitis.  my god! i have an appt with dr. mandel next wednesday.  i hope i live till then. right now i am taking 3-4 percoset a day.

i have a lot more energy which is good, but i get very frustrated now because i still can't do anything. pain!
why do these things happen to me?

june 14-still a lot of pain. not much progress.  can't move arm too well. this stinks.

what happened to my shoulder

on friday 4/29/11 i had my 72 year old shoulder replaced by a new model.  good lord. how did this happen to me. why did this happen to me. i was told my shoulder had very serious arthritis. i knew it was bad but didn't know how bad. the pain kept getting worse and i kept losing more and more motion so i decided to have the surgery.  i think even the surgeon was surprised at what he found. the surgery which was supposed to take 1 1/2 hours ended up taking 4.  the surgeon said the bone was crumbling as he was working on it and the muscle was barely attached.  there was enuff for him to put a new shoulder in place and now i am in great pain and working to get some movement back.  jeese!!!!!!!!!!  this is going to be a long slow process and i am so impatient.

Update on ben's back

Ben has gone to the p.t. twice and is still in a lot of pain. he is trying now to find a brace to wear. while at the p.t.   we met someone  with a bad back who said he will help ben rototill the garden.  i hope this man survives. his wife was there, too.  she can hardly stand but he says she could help clean the house for me while i am incapacitated. they are both in need of jobs.  this country is getting so bad for anyone who is not a millionaire to live.  everyone is losing jobs.  it is so awful and the damn repubs refuse to raise taxes on the wealthy.  i hate them!!

ben ordered a special recliner for me because i will not be able to lie down in bed for quite a while. this is crazy.
i am not a happy camper right now.
i have two people praying for me hy and winnie rossi.  someone should get through.
