Enormous earthquake hits Japan

As if i didn't have enuff problems in my life, last Friday an enormous 9.0 earthquake hit Japan. it was followed by a huge 30 ft tsunami which wiped some villages off the face of the earth.  how incredibly horrible that must have been.  the Japanese people are showing enormous strength in the face of all this horror.  many have lost everything they owned including members of their family.  there are also many nuclear reactors in japan that are having problems because of the lack of electricity and water.  one has to greatly admire the population for showing how brave people can be in the face of such adversity.
in the u.s. many people are stocking up on potassium iodide pills thinking that will save them if the nuclear cloud reaches us.  the nuclear cloud won't reach us and the pills won't help them. buying the pills will only help the people who are making money on selling them and manufacturing them.  our media is blowing this out of all proportion and many people are acting irrationally.  of course, the anti-nuclear power folks are having a field day.  so we will continue to rely on dirty, expensive and killer fossil fuels.
what a country!
